"Whatever Happened To Pink Floyd? The Strange Case Of Waters And Gilmour" DVD
This unauthorized UK documentary spends 83 minutes examining the division of one of rock's most legendary and influential groups, and the 4 albums that came during and after their split. Rather than looking at Pink Floyd's well-trodden history, this DVD looks deeper at the reasons and results of Floyd mainman Roger Waters' exodus from the band, and the albums David Gilmour helmed after Waters. It's a fascinating look at the shortcomings and pitfalls of 2 talented artists at odds with the industry, themselves, and each other.
As with other releases on Sexy Intellectual, there are numerous "expert" opinions and dialogue from writers, biographers, and Pink Floyd collaborators. As well, some archival interviews with Pink Floyd members are also included, and the live excerpts (particularly some amazing footage from the 2005 reunion) make this one a must-see for serious Floyd fans. Worthwhile and interesting!

Mogwai - "Mexican Grand Prix" video
No need for any background or bio info here, just a note that we're excited for the imminent release of Mogwai's new album, "Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will", tomorrow (February 15) on Sub Pop Records. Here's the second video from the album...a nice travelogue of Glasgow, it seems.
